ABOUT
Mona Vale Residents Association
MVRA is a community group and network
that encourages informed community engagement
in matters that impact Mona Vale and district.
MISSION STATEMENT
MVRA (Mona Vale Residents Association) is a community group and network.
Our mission is to promote informed community engagement around matters
impacting Mona Vale and district and the wider Northern Beaches area.
MVRA promotes such things as:
- Community-led planning via Local Government that is "place-based" i.e. plans draw on local context including character and the social and environmental attributes of a place that makes it a distinctive and valued one
- Planned development linked to provision of urban infrastructure and human services
- Appropriate design, scale and type of development
- Creation and protection of places for people
- Parks and landscaping
- Livability, sustainability, productivity and amenity
- Urban and civic design including village character
- Improved infrastructure and services for current and future populations
- Nature conservation, rehabilitation and protection of tree canopy
- Coastal and beach protection including dune rehabilitation
- Local business, employment, culture and the arts
- Mona Vale as a well planned mixed-use local and district centre providing employment with a wide variety of retail, commercial, service, housing, recreational, cultural and community uses
- Innovative and planned social, community, affordable and specialised housing programs and projects.
- Inclusive community development including community sport and volunteering
We advocate these principles and practices through active engagement with other stakeholders, Northern Beaches Council, elected Councillors, local members of Parliament, Government Ministers and agencies regarding such matters.
